The scripture leaves no dought that in  Proverbs 16:18
Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
God hates a pridefully arrogant person. The Dictionary says Pride goeth before a fall definition. People who are overconfident or too arrogant are likely to fail. It's like they know it all, It reminds me of a stubborn Mule. that just won't cooperate. 
Isaiah writes that satan got on a high and mighty kick and said in Isaiah: 14:
13. But you said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. 
14. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High. 
And what was God response? I'm so glad God doesn't need to go before a committee to find out what should be done for political expediency. As the song Our God is an awesome God says in

When He rolls up His sleeves
He ain't just puttin' on the ritz
Our God is an awesome God
There is thunder in His footsteps
And lightning in His fists
Our God is an awesome God
And the Lord wasn't joking
When He kicked 'em out of Eden
It wasn't for no reason
That He shed His blood
His return is very close
And so you'd better be believin'
That our God is an awesome God
God don't play around with sin.
Ezekiel 28: 12. Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
16. By the multitude of thy merchandise, they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
18. Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
19. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.
I had a pastor who shoe size was #10.He was preaching on hell and that was made for the devil and his fallen angels. With all the problems that the enemy caused him & his family. He said, "Id like to take my #10 cowboy boot and sink it in the devils behind all the way up to my knee, then push him on into hell". Many of us would love to do that but God, of course, has a better way and we won't need to get that down and dirty. All these scriptures that I have stated, is it no wonder why we should flee the very presence of evil and cleaned to righteous living.
So i want you to understand I have nothing against good grammar, even if I mess it up. and If i can do 1 thing correctly and that  i gives God all the Glory, Try to remember to Praise Him in the rough times of trails and tribulations, when my faith is stretched further  than i would like, and say  Philippians 4:
13. I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me: 
Galatians 2:
20. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 
And the songs of faith, keep me near the cross. i surrender all,  So you see that the single word i is a very important one letter word when used in the correct context.
